Vintage isn’t just what I wear — it’s how I see the world.

Hi — I’m Silas, a vintage nerd from Samsø, Denmark.
I’m the guy behind Vintage Minded — a blog dedicated to timeless style, iconic design, and stories that never go out of fashion.

I was born on a small island where things move a little slower. And maybe that’s where it started — my fascination with things that last. Well-made furniture. Clothes with history. Cameras that still click after 50 years.

These days, I live in a small rural town in Denmark with my wife and our two kids. We’re raising them in a mid-century modern home that I renovated myself — with a lot of help from my father-in-law. One of the things I’m most proud of? The herringbone wood floor we laid by hand.

During the week, I work in tech in Copenhagen. On the weekends, you’ll probably find me digging through old record bins, brushing dust off a Danish sideboard, or adjusting the tonearm on my new-old vinyl setup.

Living room with large floor-to-ceiling windows showing a wintery landscape with trees and snow outside. Furniture includes a sofa, a wooden bench, a side table with a lamp, and a vase with dried plants. Sunlight casts shadows on a herringbone-patterned wooden floor.

What This Blog Is About

Vintage Minded is my place to celebrate all the good stuff:

  • ✨ The fashion that gets better with age

  • 🪑 The furniture that tells a story

  • 🎞️ The design movements that shaped how we live

Whether it's the story behind the Chanel 2.55, a deep-dive into the Bauhaus, or how to bring soul into your IKEA setup — everything here comes from a place of admiration for quality, design, and craft.

    Why I Do This

Honestly? Because I get a feeling every time I see something timeless.
A chair that was built to last. A pair of boots that survived three decades. A Brutalist building glowing in golden hour light.

This blog is my way of collecting those feelings — and sharing them with others who feel the same.
